Review content:
I have been going to Denis' restaurant for a long time. Now that Denis Wilson has regained control of the tiller I have returned to the new Jimmy Wilson's. Fresh raw oysters are how I like to start my meal but they have a broad variety of appeteasers including crab fingers and the steamed oysters. Now they have added chops (lamb, veal, pork) so I have a whole new variety of entrees to enjoy. The steaks are surprisingly good for a seafood restaurant. Good wine selection. Great variety of fish prepared in different styles (cajun, blackened, fried, grilled) with different toppings. I can finish off with scrumptious desserts.
My mom prefers the shrimp (fried, of course), while the daughter's favorite is the gumbo, and the wife loves the rich, creamy lobster bisque. Simply one of my family's favorite places to eat out. Service always attentive, as you would expect. Now I hear they are going to open a place on San Felipe near the Galleria, closer to home, easier for me to get to.
Pros: Parking (no stupid "Valet Parking"). Short wait time for table.
