If you value ambiance over food, then this isn't the place for you, but if you're all about the FOOD, then you should check this place out. I'm not saying the ambiance was bad by any means, but it's no Melisse. My fiancee and I went on a Thurs night so it wasn't that crowded. The service was fine although I could see how on a very busy night, they could get understaffed. The clientele is on the older side although, I did see a few "regulars" pick up orders to go. The food is fantastic. I ordered the sweetbreads and they were probably the best I've had. Le Petit Chateau USE to be my favorite for sweetbreads but I think I found a new spot. My fiancee ordered the pre fixe menu (onion soup, hanger steak and chocolate souffle). The soup was good. Nothing special. They could maybe add some marrow to the broth to thicken it up a bit. The hanger steak was great. Nice char on the outside but nice and medium rare in the middle. Very tender and very tasty. The chocolate souffle was pretty good too. Strong bittersweet burst with a quick drop off of flavor allowing you to enjoy every bite as if it were your first. The thing I love about this place is that they keep the food true to form, meaning, if you order a steak, you taste the meat. Not like other places that will mask the true flavor of the dish with sauces. A couple of comments to the other users that knock the food. First, don't ever call it expresso. That kills me. Second, lamb is never to be cooked well done. If you believe that lamb is to be served 100% cooked, then your credibility is shot. For the user that commented on the hanger steak, how was it cooked? Hanger steaks are a lot like skirt steak or flatiron steak. Anything above medium and it won't be as tender if served rare/med rare. If you did order it rare or med rare, then either you got a bad one or I got a really good one. Pros: Great food, VERY reasonably priced Cons: None
