Review content:
I'm struggling to write this review. I'm sure Dr. Bennett is a very knowledgeable vet, but my aging, yet healthy, cockatiel passed away last week as a direct result of Dr. Bennett's care. We saw Dr. Bennett for an annual check up and what appeared to be arthritis, but the focus of the visit became my pet's diet of seed. Past attempts to move him to pellet have resulted in him becoming ill, and Dr. Ford instructed me last year to keep him on seed. At this latest visit, I followed Dr. Bennett's dietary instructions to the letter, and my pet appeared to be doing well, but then died suddenly. To Dr. Bennett's credit, she responded to a letter I sent to her regarding my disappointment, with a partial refund on medication and food, but stated in her response that I must have misunderstood her directions, and essentially it was my fault that my friend died. Even if I had misunderstood, (which I didn't, we had no direct discussions regarding weaning) I feel as though it was her responsibility to make sure I understood her directions before making any life threatening changes to my pet's diet. Overall, on past visits to this clinic, the visit is rushed, the care hurried, and it's all about the upcharge.
