Review content:
I grew up in Asheville, so I got married there just 2 years ago. My family always thought of Asheville Cleaners as the best cleaners in town - the place to take things that were really important. When I needed my gown pressed the week before the wedding, we, of course, took it to Asheville Cleaners. Big mistake! When I came to pick it up on Tuesday, I was disappointed that it was more wrinkled than when I dropped it off. I explained my disappointment to the owner. He assured me it would be re-done and told me, to my displeasure, that they had been trying someone new - on my $2k+ wedding gown! I came back to get the dress on Wednesday - imagine my horror when I found that it had tiny black specks all over the skirt that hadn't been there before. They decided that it would be better to not keep it in its garment bag for some reason. I started crying. My mom showed up a moment later, and the worker put the dress on the counter to show her the spots. I cried even harder when I saw the yellow highlighter mark he got on the dress. He promised it would all be taken care of the next day. I went by on Thursday to pick it up, but the owner told me it wasn't ready yet. I told him how upset this was making me and he brusquely told me not to worry and that I was getting too upset over nothing. The next day (Friday) I went to get my dress. The highlighter mark was gone, but the black spots were still there and the dress was just as wrinkled as when I dropped it off. The owner told me it was too bad, refunded my money for the pressing, and told me I should take it somewhere else if I didn't like the work they'd done. Since my wedding was that weekend, I obviously had no time to take the dress anywhere else (I called around and no one could help on such short notice). I ended up pressing my spotted dress myself and just hoping no one looked too closely at it. When I wrote to the BBB to complain of my experience, the owner wrote back, complaining that I was "difficult" and "too hard to please." I am still appalled that someone would find it acceptable for a cleaners to get spots on a wedding dress just days before a wedding and tell you to get over it. Please take your business elsewhere.
