Review content:
Started training at Elite Fitness just over one year ago. I hadn’t done much of anything in the way of exercise for about ten years; and a crucial ten years at that –
the ones between 40 and 50. Finally, I guess I just got tired of being tired and overweight, and making excuses for it. So I asked my son for a gym recommendation and he suggested Elite.
After the initial consultation with Dave Johnson to discuss my goals, any injuries and health concerns, I committed to training 3x each week. Without reservation, I can say this is the best thing I’ve ever done for myself.
The results speak for themselves. At the end of one year, decreased body fat by 6%, gained lean muscle mass and strength and dropped 3 sizes in clothing, as well as gaining cardiovascular endurance. I came to them a year ago with bad knees and persistent lower back pain; knees are still bad, but all the muscles supporting them are stronger, so they don’t hurt as much. The lower back pain is gone, due to all the core strengthening work we’ve done.
The Elite program provides the most efficient physical training I’ve ever had. Each one-hour session is a streamlined, jam-packed whole body workout that incorporates various forms of cardio and resistance work, but never in the same way twice. The trainers make notes on the sessions, so they are always tracking progress and staying vigilant about injuries and the individual needs of each client.
All the trainers at Elite have the knowledge and expertise I was looking for. They are extremely well versed in the physiology of exercise, pay very close attention to correct form for all the weight training work and are knowledgeable in the nutrition component of a fitness program.
I’ve learned a lot about how to exercise hard without getting injured. And I’m even learning boxing techniques and we’re incorporating that training into my workouts. It’s never boring and always challenging. And to my surprise, it's been really fun; I look forward to every workout. I would never go back to the standard gym routine that one finds everywhere.
At Elite, the philosophy is to constantly push each client physically, but it’s a real art tailoring those workouts to find the balance between challenging and too hard. Elite has definitely mastered this art.
It’s just an awesome facility.
Pros: knowledgeable, friendly, supportive trainers;
