My cousin came up from Georgia to visit NJ for a few weeks. She really wanted to go clubbing in NYC. Since she's only 19 the clubs were limited. Since it was late (1am) we decided to go to Webster Hall because the cover charge was the cheapest out of all the other clubs ($25 compared to $40 at Pacha). Once we paid the entrance, security groped the hell out of us. Besides rigorously checking our purses, they checked the lining of our coats and pockets. After such a thorough "inspection" we were free to go. After just a few hours in the main room, we smelled a foul odor and felt a burning sensation on our skin. A few seconds later my cousin starts screaming uncontrollably that she went blind! We went to the bathroom after realizing we'd just been sprayed with some type of acid and i flushed her eyes out, including my own. After about 10 minutes of rinsing and spitting (because it got in our mouths and noses) i went to the front desk to see a manager and have an ambulance called over. The 2 idiots had the AUDACITY to tell me to go log online and place a complaint on their website. After demanding a manager and EMT, someone finally came and took a look at my cousin who was still screaming from the burning pain in her eyes. As it turns out, the "acid" turned out to be pepper spray. Now... my question is how the hell would anyone be able to get passed security with such a thing? What if it had been a gun or knife? they don't have metal detectors so anyone could easily get passed security if they hide a weapon good enough. Security at this venue needs to do their job correctly because anyone can be seriously hurt or God forbid worse. At the end, we got our money back and were told that we could come back the following week and get in for free but knowing that i'm not safe completely stops me from going there. i know it must have been wrong place and time but this will probably happen again at that whole in the wall.. poor excuse of a club. If you cherish your life, DO NOT COME HERE Pros: NO PROS Cons: NO SUCH THING AS SECURITY OR SERVICE
