I reserved two months in advanced, and after sitting down to a gorgeous view of Central Park, my girlfriend and I ordered the tasting menu (10 courses) at $275 each and two glasses of wine at about $20 each (The Elyse bursts of flavor). There was an amuse bouche of pastry puffs with melted gruyere followed by a salmon with creme fraiche in black sesame cone. The crunchy nuttiness of the cone and sweetness of the salmon was amazing. The oyster and pearls was awesome with the salty tartness of the caviar melding with the sweet and smoothness of the oyster in butter. My favorite app was the foie gras terrine with pastachio butter and apricot gelee. Everything was so smooth and rich, complimenting each other perfectly. The beef entree was cooked perfectly had a full flavor yet was buttery. Colors on all the dishes were beautiful. The Asian style striped bass, While it was perfectly cooked and was a knockout in it's own right, was too "familiar" (as I'm Taiwanese) but tasted great and was perfectly executed. After 6 or 7 course (can't remember which) came a cheese plate which i felt was the weakest part of the dinner. I didn't get their mix of pickled beets with the cheese, as it didn't work for me. The cheese by itself was milky and lovely though. Desert were top notch, with my "bread pudding" as it was described being airy and light with the sorbets so smooth you couldn't feel it but could taste the full flavor. We were full by the time the chocolates came around so they boxed us a few and let us take it home along with these fruit and nut bars which were killer the next morning with coffee. Overall with 3 drinks, it came out to 700 service included, but we left another 50 since service was impeccable. Overall, was it worth 350 a person? I think maybe 250-300 would have gotten repeated visits from me, but this was an experience of a lifetime. Pros: Food, view, service, ambience, very intimate Cons: Paid Parking, jacket required (I'm not used to it)
