While the eye doctor and eye exam were both pleasant, ordering contacts was a disaster! I ordered the standard 4 boxes (6-month supply) from Optical Insight after my exam. Although it was "covered" by my insurance, I still paid $150 in extra fees and charges. So, I ordered a year's supply on 1-800-CONTACTS to stock up. They refused to provide my prescription to the online service, hanging up on their calls repeatedly (over 100 times according to 1-800-CONTACTS). To test this claim, I called with 1-800-CONTACTS secretly on the conference call. They proceed to hang up on me 3 times using this method when I asked them to verify my prescription. They also claimed that their fax machine was broken and thus they could not send the copy of the prescription to 1-800-CONTACTS. When I finally realized I would need to go back to the store location to get a copy, they called me a liar claiming none of this happened. But they did give me a copy - finally!
