The Melting Pot is not the kind of restaurant you go to with strangers-its a very intimate setting.
By intimate I mean that you share the food-or at least the pot its cooking in. Double dipping is the name of the game.
When you come into the restaurant, the lights are dim and you'll notice mostly couples.
They offer a variety of menu's of items that you cook yourself and they tell you 2 minutes for shrimp, 3 minutes for beef, etc.
You start with cut veggies, apples and bread and your choice of melted (fondue) cheese to dip them in.
Next comes your entrée which you have a variety of meats to choose from including chicken, shrimp, steak, etc and the your chosen broth in which to cook it.
Finally, you are given a tray of slices of cheese cake, pound cake, strawberries, etc and your choice of melted chocolate to dip it in.
The dining "adventure" takes about 2 hours-after all YOUR DOING ALL OF THE COOKING!!! LOL and at the end of the night you'll smell like a greasy kitchen.
It's pricey; about $55.00 per person not including drinks.
If you know the person your dining with it could be a nice experience however, If I'm going to cook my own food I'd rather stay home.
The service was o.k. other than the fact that one of the people dining with us had glass in their salad and the management only offered a free beer! Oh. well she accepted it.
It work dining at this restaurant but you might think its worth it-I for one...
