Although not the biggest hardware store around McLendon's is very well stocked. Not only that but you can order just about anything they don't have on the shelves. I've been shopping there for many years and have come to know many of the staff members by name; Ruddy, Rick, Jason, Keith ... The store is very well staffed with knowledgeable and helpful people. I, for one, have really appreciated the employment opportunities young people and retirees that the store has brought to Port Orchard. When the big guys first open they have all the help you need but in six months the clerks all disappear. When Lowes/Home Depot invades Port Orchard, my feet will still vote for Scott McLendon.
