RAFA Review 8/20/2007

I am an alumni of RAFA and professional performer in the dance field spanning venues such Broadway shows, national tours, commercials, tv, and am now a director and choreographer. I would never have succeeded in this career had I not had the training that I received with RAFA and specifically Lynette Gregg. In the Clear Lake area, you will not find a better and more diverse training ground that encompasses world class ballet teachers, tap, jazz, musical theater, as well as various performing opportunities for all ages. Lynette has brought passion, energy and foresight to her students helping them train in a nurturing environment and yet helping them bridge over to university or professional avenues when ready. I know they take great care to ensure information and structure is in place and always make quick reconciliations if anything is miscommunicated, I'm not sure what the negative responses here are achieving when a company has obviously been thriving, growing, and educating young artists for over 35 years. And in an environment where sports and other activities dominate, I would think any consumer/ art lover would be building up a business that not only teaches art appreciation and education to their youth, but also is a regional ballet company bringing art appreciation and outreach to the community. And as per the recital comment, you wouldn't go to the New York Symphony and call it band practice. :) Even in the semantics, Lynette is aiming for the highest goal not only for herself, but for her business and students. more
