I started going to Shanti in college and at that time didn't know what good Indian food was like. However, after making several return visits to the restaurant in the last year, I have come to realize that the quality of food at Shanti goes beyond other Indian restaurants in Indiana. I try not to order the same thing twice, but I do favor the butter chicken. The serving is not too big, but it is plenty to fill the average person. I suggest trying to the garlic naan. The regular naan is great, but the garlic variety adds an extra something special. The curry dishes are excellent. Shanti will make any dish extra spicy or very mild. I prefer going a notch above medium because the restaurant's medium isn't that bad (the one time I said hot, I left in tears because it was a bit too much for me). I think the only disappointment about this restaurant is its size--it is a tad small and when it is filled it can be a bit loud. However, the service is decent. Since it is owned locally, the family is very attentive. When we were in there for a friend's birthday party, they brought her a dish of green tea ice cream with a birthday candle--on the house. The waiters were very attentive to our group's needs and brought us extra appetizers. We all left very happy.
