This little restaurant is in a word, excellent. Located along busy Old Dominion Drive, Ichi Ban is quite popular. Seating is limited (a few tables) and sushi bar and there is often a wait--but come early to avoid this. Parking is a hodge podge out front and you may have to park on the side street, but it's worth it.
I enjoyed the freshest of sushi; all fish were impeccably fresh and well presented. Eel, tuna, salmon--outstanding. Watch as your meal is being prepared at the sushi bar--ask for more if you're still hungry! You can select rolls--either cut or hand style (I prefer the hand rolls). Cooked food is also available--negimaki and tempura were both delicious. Served hot, as they should be and accompanied by white rice.
Peruse the long list of specials as you enter the front door--a variety of items that warrants trying.
Order sake or plum wine or beer--perfect with this food. Food is reasonably priced and you won't leave hungry.
