Lilac Chocolates is a tenant in the Grand Central Market on 42nd Street. It has a small "shop" alongside a busy walkway of food vendors.
Lilac Chocolate is superb, in my opinion. I'm especially fond of their "turtles"--chocolate covered caramel w/nuts. They make dark, milk and white chocolate confections which are popular in the Market, especially among tourists.
Lilac is an outpost of a shop located downtown and this location doesn't carry the full assortment of the larger store. However, you won't be disappointed as they will certainly have something to catch you eye and delight your palate. During the holidays, they have wonderful chocolate treats, like bunnies, shamrocks, santas, flags--all in chocolate. I like the fact that they wrap my treats in a box with a gold ribbon, even if I tell them it's only for me!
