I used to work for DirecTV technical support, and I will tell ya... go for the cable! Any weather, misalignment, any number of things can make you lose your satellite signal. Also, you can always get in on what sounds like some great deal, but then those unexpected charges come up. Also... I hate DirecTV, because I feel like they mislead a lot of people. On their Sunday Ticket sports package, which, back then was running about $80... they did not bother to tell a lot of viewers that many of the big games would be blacked out.
