If you’re looking for any kind of work done to your house, ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO with Harper’s Interior Painting and Home Repair.
We contracted with Jamie Harper (told us he was the owner) in September 2009 to replace our porch floor. We had numerous problems during the installation process and were glad to be rid of him when it was over. However, less than two months later, the entire porch failed (buckled, completely came apart, etc). Not only did they have NO idea what they were doing, but they cheaped out and charged us/contracted for materials never used, instead replacing with inferior hardware and materials, did not do structural repairs as contracted, etc.
When attempts to contact Harper’s went without response, we filed a report with BBB. They never responded, and were downgraded to an “F” rating. We took him to Small Claims Court, and won the second the judge saw the photographic evidence we provided. Despite promises and assurances that he would repay us, Jamie Harper of Harper’s Painting and Home Repair jerked us around for months, claiming no money due to the economy. We later found out that after our case was decided, he bought a brand new SUV, multiple flatscreen TV’s, VIP weekends to NASCAR races, excessive junk for his kids, etc.
I have never met a more dishonest person in my life - a bonafide con artist. Every word that comes out of this man’s mouth is a bald-face lie – I’ve never seen lying come so easily to someone. This would include his wife, Kristin Lowery, who actually owns the company and is complicit in his deceit. There are MANY qualified professionals in the Triangle who do good work and appreciate the business/customers – these people are NOT included. What might seem like a “good deal” will cost you lots in the long run. Please don’t put yourself in a position to go through what we’ve had to go through – these people are evil, pure and simple.
