My wife and I had Bathmax (185 E Lake St. Bloomingdale, IL) install a shower liner with a new base and a new tub liner in our other bathroom. When looking at casually, the project looked good. But the installation and caulking was sub-par. Both the shower liner and tub liner were cut too short leaving a 1/4 inch gap. A gap that size requires more caulk to completely seal it and prevent water from seeping behind the liner. Because the caulk was miss-applied a hairline gap formed allowing water to seep in behind the liner.
The same exact thing occurred with the tub liner. The installer cut it too short and didn't fill the gap with enough caulk which allowed water to seep in between the liner and the old tub. When we step into the tub water squishes. The worst part of this is when I first called to explain the problem, they said they would take care of it but they never call back. I've called every week for the last several weeks and they ignore my message. Avoid this company. If you develop a problem down the line, they will not service you. My next step is the attorney general office. Companies that don't support their product shouldn't be in business. Bob Oak Forest, IL
