A combination ethnic foods market and take out counter with a few stools if you want to sit and eat. They have some interesting imported products and the items they make fresh are excellent and reasonably priced. You'll love Tangiers if you're into treats like baklava and unusual olives. If there is better falafel to be found in Greater Hartford, I'm not aware of it, although Tangiers is of course no match for what you'll find traveling in the Middle East.
I'm curious if the box of Israeli Halveh prominently displayed by the cash register and the photos of Europe and the Midwest were deliberately chosen to avoid suspicion. Any such suspicion would be idiotic. Tangiers is run by a large Lebanese family, and they are wonderful people - perhaps the friendliest, most good-natured businessmen I've encountered in West Hartford.
