A student must first learn to control his weaponry, not doing so is like handing a loaded gun to a child, anyone may get hurt. Striking to the head is allowed at blue belt. Being a Black Belt is more than self defense, it is an attitude for life, and in life we must learn to be humble which sometimes means taking a step back and learning from someone elses perspective no matter belt you have earned in the past. Obviously someone left that out of your training. I have studied many different systems of martial arts and in each I started over even though I was a Black Belt. I am glad I did.
