I had a steak here last week, on 1/4/07, and it was tougher than nails. The steak was absolutely awful, my wife got sick on the chicken (salmonella poisoning) that she ordered, so we are considering the option of filing a lawsuit.
The service was horrible, it took in excess of 45 minutes to receive my food, and it wasn't even busy there. I also noticed that the cook handles food, cooked AND raw, with his BARE hands. No gloves, very unsanitary. They also have a vent in the back of their building that pumps noxious deep fryer fumes into the entire area on 9th and 10th streets, the neighboorhood should raise complaints about that, since that is ILLEGAL. I hope the health department nails these crooks and shuts them down, permanently. I am reporting Taggart's Steakhouse to the NY State Department of Health as I write this article. F- for food and service.
