I was never a huge fan of Indian food until one day my boyfriend and I decided to walk into Rotee on lower Haight.
Right when you walk in there are two giant steaming thermoses where the most delicous creamy chai tea is kept. It is complimentary for all its guests. The menu has a bit of everything beef, chicken, vegitarian.
My favorites have been the Oh so creamy and rich chicken Tikka Malsala (you can order the spiciness toward your specifications) and the beef bollywood and the beef curry these two tender beef dishes are served with red curry based sauces that taste like they have been simmering all night. And of course the Naan bread. I usally order a garlic Naan and a plain with butter.
Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. At the end of the meal we always wash down our spicy dinner with a refreshing "mango milk shake" its made from yoguart so you dont feel sinful. The only draw back to this place is the parking. It can be quite a challenge but well worth it as soon as you take a sip of that warm chai. The dishes are about six to seven bucks each.
