This was by far the worst hotel I have ever seen. I thought Howard Johnson had certain standards for their hotels. The fact that the manager had to buzz us in when we arrived should have tipped us off that this was not going to be good. The hotel is run down and in a very bad part of town, and right next to a running railroad. The lobby was filthy, and the manager rude. The rooms were beyond description. It was downright disgusting. The carpet was nasty, and I don't want to think about why it was sticky. The sliding glass door was hard to close all the way and would not lock. The bed sheets were stained and looked like they had not been washed. I won't even talk about the bathroom, just think "run down gas station". There was a small refrigerator that did not work. The room smelled like urine, ass, and cigarettes(this was a non smoking room). When we went back downstairs, we were greeted at the elevator by what looked like a drunk homeless man. Back in the lobby there were all kinds of people milling around. You had your variety of crack whores, drug dealers and addicts, and wine-o's. We made it back out to the parking lot without being mugged. You had to wonder where all these people came from when there were only 3 vehicles parked outside including ours. This place is so horrible I wouldn't let my dog stay there. Needless to say, we did not stay.
