Rick's is a popular hang out for scantily clad undergraduates and law students. It's what one would call a dive, since it's quite dingy and you really don't want to touch anything. The drinks are pretty overpriced since they're not very good. There have been times that I've walked to the doorway of Ricks to go down the stairs and was so put off by the stench that I decided to turn around. I believe the main reason why it is so popular is because it is a dance club that is conveniently located. So the one good thing about Ricks is that if you go on a Thursday there are many people there and you may even have to wait in line. Personally, the negatives outweigh the positives, especially since I believe there's a cover (though it's nominal).
