I am Holly H. from the earlier review on this page. I take great exception to David Hunt's comments in his defense of his company! I have no idea who Molly or Brad or Amanda, et al, are or anything about them other than they are dissatisfied with their dealings with Concrete Forever. What I DO KNOW is this: My husband and I are NOT "Strange Folks" or "Devil Worshipers!" We are most assuredly not swindlers or deadbeats! We are upstanding citizens of Northwest Harris County with excellent references, and just because I have a complaint with Concrete Forever does not make me a irreputable person! Our "crime" seems to be that we did business with what was presented to us as a reputable company called Concrete Forever. The product we purchased, a patio, was installed in November 2005 and we were initially happy with the results. So much so that we payed our invoice in full, as per our contract. We were not particularly impressed with the skill of the workers, but the job was done fairly well because either my husband or I were there at all times to supervise the work. David Hunt came out for about 10 minutes on the day of the pour because my husband had told the job foreman that we had some issues with a fence gate that was to be installed in the newly poured concrete. The workers had damaged the gate in removing it from our existing slab, which we were upset about, and we believe David came out because he was afraid we would not pay if any further damage occurred or if the installation was done incorrectly. Several times, my husband had to "help" the workers get the job done correctly since they did not seem to be well trained and David didn't hang around long enough to ensure proper installation! We were also very disappointed that a company representative did not schedule any sort of final inspection of the project. We felt uncomfortalbe handing our final payment to one of the workers, and, in retrospect, we should not have. Within two months, the color began to come off of the patio and we contacted Concrete Forever to come out and remedy the situation. We were told we needed a "heavier duty" sealant for a $600 application fee. When we purchased our patio, we were told we had gotten the best sealant available and it would last several years. We scheduled four appointments for someone from Concrete Forever to come out and look at the problem and make repairs in which no one showed up. Repeated phone calls went unanswered, or we were lied to on the phone. During one of those calls, I was also verbally abused by David Hunt. To mitigate further damage to our patio, we have called another company (one with excellent BBB ratings and business ethics) in town to restain and reseal our patio. Their representatives told us, from what they saw, the color and sealant we had received was of inferior quality and workmanship. They are now in the process of doing work to correct Concrete Forever's mistakes. We want nothing more to do with David Hunt or his company and are grossly disappointed with his business practices. This is the first time my husband and I, in 25 years of marriage, have ever had to file any sort of formal complaint against a company. We have realized how important it is to check and double-check a company's references and BBB standing before ever signing a contract, and not be lured by a slick website. I stand by my earlier comments in Judy's Book: this company should not be in business. There are other reputable ones to choose from. I urge everyone to choose them over Concrete Forever.
