I've recycled at PH recycling center for the last few years,many of those on a bicycle. I also would use a partner's truck or car. The price always seemed lower than other centers but for the sake of convience it was my choice to recycle with the local center....Recently a sign was posted that you MUST:
PRESORT ITEMS TO BE DROPPED OFF
ONLY CUSTOMERS IN A TRUCK OR AUTOMOBILE MAY DROP OFF ITEMS...
NO BIKES,NO CARTS,NO WALK-INS
My experience was that I would get there before closing @5 in avehichle that I would borrow from a friend. Have my items presorted and because I was there the same time everyday at the end the Owner Harry asked me{actually asked an employee to tell me not to come here anymore}He didnt even have the courtesy to speak for himself...He has kicked out many other customers also...NOT JUST THE HOMELESS WHO USE THIS CENTER FOR SURVIVAL by returning CRV items...BUt also those of us who scrap what we can almost every day.....They also have taken advantage of my girlfriend who I have sent w/sorted items and paid lower prices for the stuff...eg.(wire 1 @ 1.13 per lb. was put in same barrel by employee as wire 2@.62 per lb} they weighed the 2 kinds of wire together instead of seperately like she had and gave her the lower wire 2 price....WHATS UP WITH THAT>>>>>I WISH THEIR WAS ANOTHER LOCAL OPTION FOR US HERE IN WC AND CONCORD BUT THEY ARE THE ONLY VENUE IN TOWN AND KNOW IT. THE ALSO STATE "they have the right to refuse service to any one" I hope they feel good about the fact that they provided a service and outlet for many of us less fortunate and homeless just to shut us out and tell us our business is net welcome....I am really pissed off and wish I could do something to make them ...anyway I dont think that this place is right at all for the way they treat customers...We used to be apppreciated as a customer now we are an inconvienence////What's up with that????
