I have never encountered such rude and incompetent service. I was immediately concerned as I pulled up to Hotel La Jolla At The Shores that I didn’t notice any ocean. I realized the next morning that the promised ocean view was far off in the distance. They might as well advertise it as Hotel La Jolla At The Moon, with beautiful views of the moon. The two high school kids working the front desk couldn’t even put down their coloring books to answer my questions about the town of La Jolla. They were actually coloring in coloring books. They couldn’t tell me what restaurants or bars were around and acted as if I had some nerve to even ask such questions. As the point of my trip was to enjoy a weekend of surfing, I decided to only stay one night. I was told that I could check out early without being charged for any additional nights. However, they have since charged my credit card for two nights and refuse to reverse the charges. I am now stuck paying for two hotel rooms, one of which I didn’t even occupy. When I called to voice my complaints to the hotel manager I was told there was nothing she could do about it and hung up on. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. All the enjoyable memories of my time in La Jolla have now been erased by the agony of dealing with the management at Hotel La Jolla at the Shores. more
