Tony's Guns & Police Supply

Tony's Guns 9/28/2006

The model for customer service and customer respect is found at Tony's Guns in Sumter. When I first started looking to purchase a firearm, I went to several other places. Some one shop mom and pop type places and some part of a chain. None of them made me feel completely at ease, which was important to me when buying a GUN. There's a process of forms and approvals and background checks, etc and I wanted to be aware of what I was getting myself into. I then stumbled upon Tony's. From the getgo they pulled out the gun I was interested in and it's comparable brands, models, calibers, and even variants of the same exact gun and explained to me the differences of each one. I was not very gun savvy in the beginning. As it turns out, they sold me on the gun I had sold myself on. They walked me through the process step by step until the gun was in hand and made sure I had all the necessary accessories such as hearing and eye protection and cleaning kits. All necessary things that a new owner overlooks. One may argue that they got the better of me by making me walk out with stuff I hadn't planned on buying, but if you leave without hearing protection, you didn't pull the wool over anyone's eyes. I've been back for 2 guns since plus hundreds or even thousands of rounds of ammunition in between. Every time I walk in, i'm greeted like a friend or neighbor - sometimes even with a hug from Tony himself (who is a character). I even go in there just to hang out because of the entertainment value and the friendly staff loves their customers. I have brought several people with me who will no longer shop anywhere else for these types of products. They are also extremely supportive of military personnel, which is great in a town like Sumter, but not found as frequently as one might expect. I'm a customer for life. more
