Hi-Line Auto Electric, when I first took my Ford truck there, seemed like a pretty good facility. The price for transmission service was better than the local dealer, and the mechanics seemed like they knew what they were doing. I kept going back there for a couple years, and took my Chevy sedan there too. The prices for repairs seemed to increase, and they recommended replacing stuff that normally doesn’t need replacement—like the steering column on the sedan. Once on my truck after they changed the oil, the oil cap wasn’t tightened down and fell into the engine compartment. Luckily, I didn’t drive that far before finding out about it. One repair bill for my Ford truck was near two grand for hoses, brakes, and a serpentine belt—and this was for an occasional driver that had the oil changed at their shop three months and 2000 miles earlier. They said everything was in great shape- hoses, brakes, belts, fluids, etc. After they did the steering column job on my sedan, I found that some wires to my FM modulator my aux audio hookup on my stereo were broken off. I don’t go there anymore because I’m suspicious of their practices and don’t think they were honest with me. There are other shops nearby that are more trustworthy, and have good mechanics. more
