After visiting the Air and Space museum at the National Mall I never thought there would be anything similar or even better in our own backyard. When I discovered the Udvar-Hazy center, I was in awe at the thousands of aviation and space artifacts that were on exhibit here. It is a huge place that has a large aviation hangar in which aircrafts are displayed on three levels. People who visit can walk among aircraft displayed on the floor and view aircraft hanging from the arched ceiling on elevated skywalks. Many famous aircrafts like Boeing, Blackbird, Concord and even a space shuttle are on display here. You can even enjoy an Imax movie and visit the observation tower. There are even flight simulators and a food court. The Parking lot is spacious but comes with a fee. But admission is entirely free and this can be a wonderful and educative place to go to as a family.
