Haute Cuisine - Just North of Indy 8/18/2006

Like it's big brother (The Glass Chimney) on Old Meridian in Carmel, Deeter's brings haute cuisine and a menu of Continental and French that satisfies every time. Both are owned and operated by veteran Dieter Puska, after whom the restaurant gets its name (with just a small phonetic spelling change...Hoosiers raised on calorie-laden foods would have never entered the door of a correctly-spelled Dieters). The Chimney would top the list of Best In Carmel, but Deeter's wins based on price. The pricier (average entrée above $50) and dressier (coats required) Chimney is special but Deeter's is even more so. The menu's similar, the chef cooks for both and they share a kitchen. Deeter's is less formal and easier on the wallet. And the food's just as enjoyable. Reservations are recommended. And all major credit cards are accepted.
