Poor connection at peak hours 8/13/2012

I had terrible experience with Clear 4G. I was paying 45$ for unlimited connection, it was promised to be up to to 6Mbps, reality was that all times when I would need it (like 8pm-10pm when you usually watch videos/movies online) - it was barely hitting 1Mbps. It was like dial-up days, I was waiting pre-loading YouTube videos with terrible 240p-quality, so bad it was at peak-hours. I tried to call to Techsupport, it took 50 minutes, they are not really helpful, just asking to clear Temorary Internet files, other stupid things. They insist to do them, but they do not bother to explain why Verizon 4G works ten times faster on the same laptop with the same configuration. It's not bad for emails/web browsings without videos - it would work, just don't connect to more expensive plan - absolutely no sense to pay more for the same poor connection. When I found that Clear doesn't fit my requirements, I was thinking about keeping it as a backup connection. At the same time Verizon started their 4G network and I bought 4G-tablet with Verizon 4G, and found that new 4G-Verizon network is so much faster than Clear's, they have limited traffic included, but 2Gb for backup connection is more than enough. So Clear 4G lost competition even as secondary connection - I bought 4G modem from Verizon instead. Advice: When you cancel your membership with Clear please remember that their "free month" is a just a cheap trick to get another chance that you'll forget to cancel it before the next billing cycle. They refuse refund if you call the next day after the credit card charge and doesn't matter that you were a good customer for 2 years. more
