I have my birthday party in the summer here with a bunch of friends. The Lower East Side had changed a lot and you can get that "too cool" attitude at a bunch of places. Not here though. The upstairs bar spans the length of the places, which is pretty narrow but a whole city block long. They have a great music selection playing and some pool tables in the back. The downstairs room us used for private parties and has a more upscale, rather than dive bar, feel. We had this room to ourselves complete with our own bar and bartender and lots of comfy couches. The club scene is not my thing, so in an area where that is starting to change, this is a perfect lo-key alternative.
