Bad hair cut gone good 10/26/2006

I have to review my hair salon here because of an incident that happened to me a few weeks ago. This could've been a 1-star review, but they really redeemed themselves. I've been going here to many years, like maybe 5. During college, I would wait to get my hair cut/highlighted during breaks so I could get it done by my normal stylist. So, in late September when I went in for a highlight touch-up, I thought it would be routine. My hair had been dyed and being in the sun all summer had lightened it up even more. It was in bad shape, not terrible, but it needed some help. So I told my stylist I wanted to go a shade or two darker to undo some of the sun damage. My hair is blonde. It's been for the majority of my life. For some reason she took "darker" to mean black. My hair was hideous! I left the place crying and I've never been upset about hair before so I felt silly. When I got home, everyone was like "Wow, what happened to you!" which make me feel worse. I've been going to this lady for years, I don't know how she could've messed up my hair! I called the salon and got a corrective apt. with another stylist. She found a gentle way to remove the darker dye w/out harsh chemicals. My hair is not the exact colour I wanted it to be, but it's not black anymore! Like a dirty blonde maybe. Regardless, I was happy to have this fixed, free of charge by the salon. And I think I found a new colourist. So, a bad situation, turned out alright and was handled very well by the salon. more
