Unfortunately, I have to rate Dr. Gamponia very poorly. My husband has been into see her several times in the last 9 months or so and we are both extremely disappointed in her. I've never experienced a doctor who seems like she knows your body better than you do. Dr. Gamponia has prescribed several medications my husband didn't even need. One medication ended up causing severe insomnia and upset stomach and when my husband spoke with Dr. Gamponia about the it, she assured him that the medication was not the cause. After speaking with both Dr. Gamponia and the nurse on call several times in a two week time period (my husbadn had nights of no sleep at all), we decided it was time for a second opinion. My husband went to a sleep disorder doctor who quickly took him off two of the medications Dr. Gamponia prescribed. Apparently those meds do cause symptons my husband was experiencing. Dr. Gamponia's feeling was that my husband needed to see a Physiatrist since the meds she prescribed weren't doing what she thought they should! I don't feel she helped nor truly listened to my husband at all through this time.
After all that I asked my husband to find a new doctor but he decided to keep seeing her ... until now. The most recent ordeal was over something small that should have been taken care of in one appointment. Instead it took two appointments, two antibiotics and she wanted him to schedule a third appointment to actually take care of the problem! All which should have been done the first time he went in. I don't understand doctors who push medicine, especially antibiotics, without actually trying to figure out or fix the cause of the problem first. Enough is enough. My husband will be looking for a new doctor now and I hope others have a better experience with Dr. Gamponia.
