I have found that Safeway grocery store always seem to be a bit more expensive than other grocery stores in the valley. The have ok sales, but a lot of times when I go in there to get a sales item they are out of stock. They will give you a raincheck, but I wished if the item were on sale that they would have more of it in stock. The employees are ok in here, occasionally they offer check out assistance but usually they don't.
