I regularly get my hair deep conditioned, 4 times at this salon and numerous times at a salon closer to my college. Normally when I get my hair deep conditioned, I am sat down for a consultation because I have very thick curly hair and I use deep conditioning to keep it healthy. Other times they used a specific deep conditioner to repair and add shine; a cream massaged into my hair followed by 10 minutes under the dryer so the product really penetrates. This time, the stylist briefly wet my hair and then lightly sprayed a product onto my hair leaving the bottom layer of hair untouched, which was the most damaged part. I then sat there for 5 minutes with water dripping from my hair because it was not wrapped and under the dryer, as it should have been. When she washed my hair out I felt like I was being punished. The service resulted in NO benefit to my hair; I could have done better on my own.
I called the salon that evening asking for the manager and was told he was busy but would call ASAP. I never got a call. I called the next morning and again he was busy but would call at noon, he did not. I called a third time in 24 hours and finally spoke to Paul. I explained the situation and he asked me "well, what would you like ME to do about that?" I have never been spoken so rudely to before. I said I was sure he had protocol for complaints and I would appreciate if he handled it accordingly. To that he claimed he had never before received a complaint at his salon. He then told me that I had only been there 4 times for a low price service so I was not a regular customer who spent a lot of money there and so he did not feel the need to "deal with" my situation. I told him it was ridiculous that I had to call 3 times and he said "well you're talking to me now, I've been busy. I have customers in my store now. I am going to let you go and I will talk to you when it is convenient for me." He made it clear that since I dont spend hundreds at his salon I dont deserve good service or customer care.
