Stingy, slow, mediocre, & presumptuous 11/27/2011

This has got to be the stingiest Indian restaurant that I've been to in my life! I thought that because we used a coupon that they made the portions of everything so small - because other Indian restaurants in the area usually load you up with food - enough to take home! The appetizers were expensive but only received a small portion, with tiny bowls of the sauces. 2 pieces of papadam. A pint of beer that was filled to about 1 1/2 inches from the top. Chicken Tikka that tastes like it was from charbroil grill and not tandoori, along with burnt onions, green peppers, etc. Lamb dish that had like 8 small pieces of lamb that were over cooked and tough like a tire. They were out of most of the desserts - but they came in tiny bowls! Who would normally pay $3.95 for 1/2 cup of rice pudding without almonds?! It also took 2 1/2 hours to get through this meal - the waiters were in your face for you to hurry up and order, hasty to answer questions, but then never to be found when you need a refill of water or to remove plates. Our whole night was blown because they were so slow! The icing on the cake was that when the bill came - they added gratuity - 20%!!!! I normally pay 18%-20% when I go out to a restaurant, but if I feel the service was poor then I will drop it down to 15% - and very rarely would I ever not tip at all. But the gall that they had to add such a big tip for a small table after being so slow and rude, that I ended up not leaving that 20%, but 12%. I shouldn't have left anything, but I didn't have change for a $10! We will never go back there again! more
