I haven't been to any swimming pools in staten island. Avantis Swimming Academy place was a pleasant surprise. It is big and the lanes can crowd up in the cold pool, but people are polite. The chlorine isn't too strong. They let you borrow goggles if you left yours at home. For reasonable price. The pool & its water felt clean & fresh. At one point, I am really enjoying my swimming lessons here.
