Sam's Club for all of your Labor Day needs 9/2/2006

I went to Sam's today (on Big Bend in Kirkwood) to purchase items for to be used for the holiday weekend. I had a list of items with me in hopes that I wouldn't succumb to Sam's madness and purchase a whole car load of things that I didn't really need. I failed. My mistake was taking my family with me. That combined with the fact that there were free samples all over the place played havoc with my plans. The people distributing the samples were nice and polite. The store was clean and well stocked, but I didn't find everything that I wanted. When I was getting ready to check out, I couldn't locate my son (honestly, he had been right behind me just two seconds prior). My husband and I looked for him for a couple of minutes. When I couldn't locate him, I went to the first employee I could find -- just happened to be a cashier -- and was totally ignored. About the time I was going into full panic mode because I couldn't locate my son and the cashier wouldn't listen to me, I spotted my son. I am unhappy with this store because the cashier wouldn't help me. It isn't the first time that I have encountered an unhelpful employee at this location. In fact, a few times the employees have been downright rude. There are two other Sam's locations close by so I think I will go to one of them from now on. In fact, I did go to a second Sam's location today because I was looking for a specific drink, and I knew it was at the other one. Three stars for a well-stocked store, but poor customer relations. more
