This park was finished just this past winter of 2006. The park is located just east of the town of Sweet Home, Oregon.
Right now, there are 45 campsites in the park. By the time the park is finished, they plan on having 90 campsites.
We wanted to stay in this park because of it's beauty, it's proximity to the river, and the secluded campsites it offers. Many parks take down every tree to fit as many possible sites as they can. This park, however, respected the beauty the land offered, and kept as many trees as possible--only taking out those that were necessary for the RV spot and picnic table/firepit. Our site was lovely. It was long enough to fit 2 vehicles, plus our 33 ft. 5th wheel. Not only that, but there was a bit of a clearing behind us for the kids to play in--and we were still tucked back with trees on 3 sides of us.
The sites are paved, as well as the roads. There are nicely graveled walking trails. The river is close by, just a quick walk and you're there. When we went, the temperature of the water was perfect to play in, and you could wade across--although it was extremely slippery on the rock slabs. It was just wonderful.
The park is tucked away in between wooded hillsides, and the beauty all around is breathtaking.
Sweet Home is about 10 minutes away if you need to run to the grocery store, get ice cream at the Dairy Queen, or fill up the tank with gas.
Although this park is less than an hour away from our home, it is our favorite now. We will be staying there often now.
