I usually only make it over to Sweetbriar Nursery once a year in the late spring. They have gorgeous plants and their service is the best. Their garden plants are so much nicer than anything you can find at the local chain stores. There's just no substitute for healthy plants.
And, something that seems to always make it into my reviews, this is a fun place to shop with kids. Get a garden cart, explore the different plants, ask questions of the owners, dawdle, meander, enjoy. You simply cannot get this kind of experience at a big box store.
When we go here, we always ask for recommendations and we try planting something new. We're never disappointed.
