The old JB's in now European Haus. I was hesitant to go there. I love German food and was worried I'd walk in and find a glorified waffle house. (I hate when that happens.) But after an encouraging recommendation, we did go.
Yum.
Okay, so their prices are a little high, but their food is really good. My husband's entree came in a souflee dish. There was puff pastry on the outside and it was filled with scrumptious chicken and mushrooms in a cheese sauce--very rich and artery-clogging, but oh so good.
I had pork loin with (very) garlic potatoes, warm apple sauce, and red cabbage. Meals come with hearty, stand-your-spoon-straight-up soup (deseving of an extra yum) and salad. The loaf of bread they bring to the table is heavy and flavorful.
I very much enjoyed the meal and will definitely go back, but the meal is also very heavy and I couldn't eat there all the time. I miss Bavarian Deli in Boise!
