Last night we tried a new restaurant in the Cinco Ranch area called the Red Oak Grill. It is located on the west side of Mason Road near the Equestrian center and Highland Knolls. They have been open about 7 weeks and business appeared to be very good, with about half the tables filled and several take-out orders being picked up. The Red Oak Grill is family-owned, and there were about 3 or 4 family members working in the restaurant.
My husband ordered a chicken shawerma, which the order-taker said was one of the most popular menu items. It was delicious. He also ordered a side of hummus, which was some of the best I've ever tasted. Our only complaint was that the pita bread wasn't the freshest. I had a Divine Chicken sandwich, which included swiss cheese, honey mustard, and bacon. It was also top-notch. We ordered a kids' hamburger plate, and this was also good. Prices were very reasonable, ranging from $4-9 for sandwiches and entrees. The menu also includes burgers, other chicken sandwiches, gyros, salads, and baked potatos.
The restaurant was nicely decorated and very clean. I am glad to see a local restaurant was getting so much business. We will be going back for more soon!
