Last year, I was my son's soccer team "Mom". By accepting this responsibility, one of the things I had to do was organize a team party after our last game.
Since I'd never been a Team Mom before, I was not quite sure how I would put everything together. I wanted to find a place that was affordable, yet fun while having great food and a large enough area to accommodate the team and all the families.
I called Old Chicago Pizza in the Tannasbourne shopping center and was lucky that they were available for our group on the day and time I needed. I set up the appointment probably 2 weeks before the end of the season and had called several other restaurants that were already booked with soccer parties. I was starting to think I would never find any available restaurant, so I was relieved that Old Chicago was.
Old Chicago is a sports themed restaurant with several games available for viewing on the multiple tv screens through out the restaurant. We met at 11:30 and although they didn't have a separate "room" for us to meet in, there was plenty of space for our large group to not only eat, but to have our awards presentation afterward with out having to disturb anyone else's meal.
Our meal included all you can eat pizza, all you can drink soda, and a cookie for dessert. This was hot pizza, brought to our table, rather than pizza sitting under a heat lamp “buffet-style”. They had 3 or 4 different kinds of pizzas including veggie, pepperoni and Hawaiian. The pizza was really good, the service was great and everyone had a great time.
Prices were fairly reasonable too. It was around $6.50 per adult and around $5 per child.
