My dad used to travel to Portland for conventions every so often and would always tell me about "The Old Wives Tale" and how much he loved it. My dad is the last person to concern himself with "healthy eating". When I moved to Portland, my dad kept bugging me to eat at the Old Wives Tale, until finally, when he came up for a visit, we went there together.
I loved the play area for kids, and so did my son, who was about 2 at the time. But most of all, I loved the Hungarian Mushroom Soup. It was some of the best soup I've tasted, and I do consider myself a soup snob.
The Old Wives Tale has a fun and casual atmosphere. The service at the time was fine and the staff were very pleasant. It's a great place for healthy and delicious food.
