My favorite greasy spoon. Friend's Cafe is a little hole-in-the-wall breakfast spot with a very sweet beginning. The story goes like this: Paige, the owner, had been a waitress most of her life and had dreamed of opening her own resturant. When her son went off to war overseas, he found he didn't have much use for his military paychecks, so he saved them. When he returned home, he gave his mother the money to start up the resturant. The cafe is run by Paige and her family and friends.. a very lively bunch! Great food, great prices. They are open until 2pm, but seats fill up fast during the rush times. They are also open a few nights (Thurs, Fri, Sat, I think), with a Friday Night Fish Fry. Great local business!
