I took my family to this zoo when we needed a break from the Woodland Park zoo last fall and we were all pleasantly surprised! It's much smaller than the Seattle zoo, but has a nice selection of animals - we especially enjoyed the beluga whales and the walrus! The zoo is in a beautiful area, and it worth the drive, if you're coming from Seattle!
The aquarium part could use some updating, in my opinion.
