I'll tell you I used Stanley Steamer once for "cleaning" my carpets and I will never use them again. First i would expect them, Being carpet experts and all, to tell me if I should replace my carpet instead. After all they all they sell carpet as well. So after "cleaning" my carpet a day later it looked the same. i had them come out twice to do the job right and then finally after they couldn't clean the carpet they said I should just replace it. So knowing my carpet would not come clean they charged me money for nothing and admitted too me my carpets were too far gone. Then when I asked for my money back I had to fight for it. Bottom line was that they only want your money and don't care if your carpet ever comes clean, otherwise they would have given me all of my money back for a job they couldn't do.
