I've been playing around with a number of Vietnamese Pho places in the area, and have finally settled on one to be my go to pho spot. I went to Pho Than Bros on Market, which was good, but the broth was slightly off--too sweet or something. Then, I bounced around for the International district and found some good spots, but way too far.
Pho Vietnam, which is a few blocks away from Ballard HIgh on 15th is a pretty solid bet for Pho. Tastes pretty authentic, meals comes with sprouts, basil, and other necessary accoutrement, and a creme puff comes with each meal. It's ridiculously cheap--I once went with two other people and our entire tab was under 20 bucks.
I'm not sure how to best describe Pho for those of you who are new. The best I can do is think of a large bowl of noodles in a clear soup broth, with meat and whatever else you want to add.
