Marc's discount and grocery store has some really good deals. I get a lot of produce there and dried fruits. They have good sized containers of dried apricots for $1.50 and a lot of Sun Maid assorted fruits for $1.33 to $1.69. There are a lot of deals on canned foods also. Many other products are priced moderately but look out for good sales in their flyers. I rarely look in the closeout general merchandise area but have heard you can find some good deals there also. Be warned though, lines can be long because they key in a lot of their products instead of scanning.
